An Intro

May 1st, 2005 by Northern Farmer

Well, this is the first time posting so it’s kinda a test of sorts. I ended up starting this blog today with the Minnesota weather fairly miserable. I had some time this afternoon and started setting it up. With my knowledge of computers it’ll be a while yet before I have it running the way I want.

The weather is cold, windy, and has some snow flurries. Typical farmer, eh, talking weather. Our family raises Black Angus cattle and it’s calving season here. I had hoped it would be a little warmer, more for me not them. Always amazes me how the calves can be born and get up shortly and get that first milk from mamma and the weather doesn’t matter after that.

One thing I’d like to post in the future is my feelings on where corporate agriculture is heading. On it’s present course I think we’re in big trouble.

Now I have to see if this thing works!

Hi there. This is Nick from over at the hairy libertarian. You commented on my blog so I thought I’d check yours out. Looks good, so I’ve added you to my blog roll.

Glad you stopped by Nick!I’ve been dropping by your blog for a few weeks just to see what was up.Someday I’ll get this blog more up to snuff, (I hate tinkering with computers), and have loads of info for people that want to become more self sufficient and live an agrarian way of life.
