OP Corn

July 15th, 2005 by Northern Farmer

I thought I’d publish my protest of Big New World Order Multi National Seed Companies. This is a 4th of July photo of my open pollinated corn. In Minnesota the old saying is knee high by the fourth of July but this stuff isn’t taking a back seat to any hybrid. It was waist high. As of now it’s way over head high and withstanding the dry spell as good as any hybrid here.

Thank You Bonita and Wendy! Two weeks to the day of the photo being taken the OP corn is two foot taller than the hybrids we have. I think it’s going to be a main thing here in the future.

    Tom,

Great picture of the corn. I used to work for a large multi-national seed company. I tried to tell them OP corn was going to be popular, they just started looking for ways to fire me!!

    More later,

That’s interesting JM! One of these days soon I’ll post a follow up photo of it.Last evening daughter #1 and I were out there and the OP corn is awesome.Still trying to adjust my mind to the fact that it’s out preforming the silage hybrids.
