Old Fashion Bible Believing Church

September 26th, 2005 by Northern Farmer

To any that have been keeping track here about my feelings of the “Modern” church you know that we finally pulled out of the church that we’ve been going to for fifteen years. It was a difficult decision, but one that had to be made. And when made it was not done lightly. I was never a church hopper or anything like that. But as the years when by our church kept getting away from God and the Bible to a more modern suburbian type of so called religion. Anything goes religion. Well, I hear today some of the girls in the youth group are body piercing all over their whole body with parent approval and the church smiling. GRRRR! In all the years that we were there we never would let our children get sucked up into their world. Wouldn’t let the girls go to any of their youth events. We were looked down upon, but what the heck, I don’t care. I guess these girls that are becoming walking fishing tackle displays pierced about every part imaginable. What can I say except I’m not looking back and wondering if we made the right choice.

As things go we didn’t even have another church lined up, nothing, nadda.I wasn’t to bothered because if there’s a good old fashion church the Lord will let us know. Well, as always the Lord came through and we have found an old fashion, Bible believing Church, and I praise the Lord!!It’s fifteen miles away out in the hill country. No modern suburban influence as we found out. Isn’t it something how the Lord does not let us down.

This opens a new and exciting chapter in our walk with God and I thought I’d share it with you all.

What a blessing to you and your family! I would have recommended our church, but it is down in the cities, and I doubt you would be able to attend. Providence Reformed Baptist Church in Minneapolis.

If you don’t mind my asking, what is the name of your church? We often get calls from all over MN asking for good bible believing churches in other locations and so far, we have been stumped.

    Tom,

I commend you for your decision. It is tough to leave existing relationships but it comes down to priorities. We are facing the same dilemma in Northern Virginia. Though we are not confronting rank apostasy, it is a suburban, seeker-oriented gospel-lite. All the alternatives I am aware of in our area preach the same watered down gospel so that nothing offends modern lifestyles.

I pray your decision led you to the right fellowship.

    God bless.

    WJG,
What’s truely amazing is watching and listening to my daughter’s reactions and comments after the service. This is the first time they ever heard the non watered down gospel in their lives in church. Praise the Lord!!
