A Small Post
October 6th, 2005 by Northern FarmerIt looks like the garden is going to be a memory after tonight. Not a frost warning, but a freeze warning for tonight, and the temperature doesn’t have to far to drop to get there either. Seen my first snow of the season today, just a trace, but still snow. Earlier this week week we had five inches of rain here, and some of our pastures that were greening up from the summer dry spell are underwater now, so now we have to feed hay not because of drought, but because the grass is under water. At least the underwater grass won’t freeze tonight. Oh well, in a few days the water will go down and it’ll be a memory also.
These next few days will be busy trying to salvage all the produce that we picked out of the garden and also apple trees, and just before the rains came I went out Monday evening and dug up a couple pails of horseradish. It gets the Polish side of me excited. Northern Salsa! Cures alot of ailments. Think I’ll give some to the Mexicans the next time they are around here and carefully observe their reactions.
This is one of those times that it’s difficult for me to blog. I’m just a simple person. We’re not immune here to the trials that this fallen world can throw at a us and sometimes it can be hard on a person. It’s no different than for anyone else since creation. A difficult one is sickness in our immediate family, the “C” word. But with our faith in Jesus our Savior we know that someday we will watch the moment when the devil is thrown down. The evil one thinks he can have his time now with our family but his time is soon coming to an end. All the misery that the evil one caused will cease. I Praise Jesus!!! And I will Praise Him forever and ever!
