Gotta Get Rested Up

October 14th, 2005 by Northern Farmer

We’re getting ready for working cattle tommorrow, everything is set as far as I know, but when the rubber hits the road tommorrow morning I’ll find that I forgot a few important things, that’s par for the course. Hopefully it’ll go off without any problems. The weather forcast looks good for one thing, and the help telephoned tonight saying they’ll be here bright and early. And sounds like some of the women are coming to whip up some food for the crew and myself. I like that! My ears are still ringing from the bellering here and I sure do hope the decible level goes down somewhat tommorrow. Guess that’s one of the advantages of where I work on the calves, it’s not on the noisy end of their body. Although it sure can have it’s moments back there. Guess I don’t trust anyone else doing the dasterdly deed on them bull calves, but it’s not like everyone here is begging for my job. Oh well.

I’ll keep this post short tonight and get a little rest for tommorrow. Going to wake daughter Rachel up the same time I get up and cook her up a huge farm breakfast, she helps with all the go-fer jobs tommorrow, sure saves on my legs because they’re getting to have some high milage on them. Always funny when I think about people watching their calories, I guess I do too, but I watch to get the “most” calories that I can to make it the long hours till the next bite of food. The wife is always wondering how I stay lean, it’s just a simple formula, burn more than a person intakes. And around here them calories do get burned up, not much need for sleeping pills either.

We’re praying Peggy, just hand any worries over to the Lord. They’ll be taken care of.
