The World Around Us
October 18th, 2005 by Northern FarmerIt sure has been calm around here lately, weather is beautiful but changing as I type, a cool front charging down from the north country. Work is proceeding along at a rapid pace, alot to go, but nothing that can’t be handled at this point. The last of the cows were hauled home today so that ends the many pasture checks which have been a part of our routine since spring. I’ll miss the pasture checks, but look forward to the feeding routine closer to home when the weather turns cold.
By calm I’m refering to my attitude about everything happening around us too. I do beleive that the Lord is opening my eyes more and more every day, letting me see the world for what it truely is. The strange thing by worldly standards is that I look at the maddness and the unbeleivable evil with less and less fear. Understanding that God is in control quiets these fears. Sadness yes, because so few people can see or want to see how modern society is rushing to destroy itself. And as the noise from a world gone mad gets louder so it almost drowns out everything else few notice the heavenly noise. The rejoicing as the host of Heaven praise that the age of darkness will soon come to an end. The world will pay for the martyr’s blood spilled on it. Evil will pay.
I think about modern Christianity and how so many are following the world gone mad and calling it good. The willingness to follow a doomed society, an evil one, and to call it good. Instead of simplifying their lives as the Lord commanded, the vast majority of modern christians are taking in the maddness hook, line and sinker. And they despise the simple Christian who wants no debt, no modern toys, and wants to tend the land, honoring the Lord. They hate it when they see someone following the Lord and separating bit by bit from the doomed culture led by the evil one. The culture of death hates the people of God. The followers of evil hate the simple people as we take care of our families. They hate families!
For anyone following a Christain Agrarian vision the hate the rest have for them is one of the most reassuring points. It was promised in the Gospel that we would be hated. The followers of the evil culture would be loved by the world. Will it get better? I don’t think so. The few nowdays that are being called to the Christian Agrarian vision are having their eyes opened like few others on this earth are.It doesn’t matter where we’re at, farm, city, wherever, the world is being exposed for what it is, more terrible than most can imagine. The culture of death lull’s the masses into slavery, with brain numbing results. Religious leaders talk the talk, but still are totally immersed in the modern culture with no thought of living simple. The religious population is totally addicted to the culture of death, most not even realizing it, or willing to admit it.
But myself, I’m getting strangely more and more calm as time marches on. Every way I turn now I can start to see what needs to be disguarded. No wanting for most things anymore. And life is getting so exciting following this path. I know this isn’t my usual blogging, but these are my thoughts that are with me constantly. I just wanted to share them.
