Tuesday Night Praise
May 30th, 2006 by Northern FarmerThe big weekend is a memory, although we really didn’t have any days off here except for parts of Sunday. But there’s always chores to do so that does somewhat limit the range of away from home activities, but then again I figure it does connect a person to reality. Life goes on here, day after day, multiple generations sharing in the work, sharing in the joy, sharing in the pain. But I can’t think of a more realistic life than that. And the more I talk to folks the more one can see it starting to set into their hearts.
Sometimes a person just has to stop and think about how about face we are heading compared to regular society. Wow, it is something else. In reality we’re not heading away from the modern world, the modern world is spiraling away from anything sane. And it does seem to be picking up the pace. Now, as the modern world is heading for its own self destruction, more and more things keep popping up around here that are leading us away from the world’s path. I just can’t call it coincidence or luck any more. I think we are being led, or maybe pushed by the Lord, into all new situations that will have huge impacts on our lives here on this multi generational farm. I’m in awe how it all works. Every hope and dream I ever had is popping up, to many to be luck.
From new farming ways, to new ways of education, or should I say old ways. Life is at a roar here. I always say lately, “I’ll have to strap myself down with a seatbelt at the speed we’re moving.†And our little Bible Believing and Preaching Church in the Hills, what a gift!
Not much time tonight, so this is a short blog of Praise! Sometimes it’s just good to do that. I’d better shower up, and review a little more of tomorrow nights preachin and teachin. Thank you Jesus!

You are right about the way this world culture spins further and further from any reality. I have a collection of farm magazines from the 20’s to the 50’s and when I read them I realize how far off base we have gotten in our farming and in rural society. How about some more about the church you attend?

Brent,
Like night and day difference, how it used to be farm magazines were for farmers. When I was growing up when we got the Minnesota Farmer it was just loaded with useful info and fun to read, even for a kid!
Thanks for asking about our little church. Really I hold back on posting about it because I figure most folks don’t give a hoot about that part of our life. But I always throw in tid bits. I’ve been working on a story about the healing services in March/April that we had. In fact something is nudging me to write a story called “Healing Waters” which would be our families move to the Little Bible Believing Church in the Hills. The trouble is it keeps happening at a roar and I can’t keep up with the changes around here. So there’ll be more coming. Thanks!
