A Harvest Time Note

July 20th, 2006 by Northern Farmer

Grain harvest was moving along today with the start of combining here. Just got in and its almost dark out. After this job the rest of the summer should have very little harvest work unless there’s a drastic change here as far as rain is concerned. The hay fields are at a standstill. But the corn is trying to hang in there.

So I’d better finish up what needs finishing up around home here before bed. I’ll do a lazy post this evening and throw in a couple of links to some photos. One is our newer version chicken tractor, a lot lighter than the Titanic model, and last but not least is a link to my pal Gilbert.

That’ll have to do for now and I hope to catch up with everything on the old computer in the next day or two.

I don’t see the links Tom!

Well, I guess that ends that! I won’t do the links anymore. I hate computers!

thought I was having a oldster moment and couldn’t find the links! LOL Hope rain comes your way soon Tom. We are drying up here too.

The links should show up now. They were being shown with no underline, which made it hard to find them.

    Peggy,
It seems I’m living an oldster moment continually :) Here’s praying that you folks get some rain.

    Mark,
Thanks for helping!! Boy, sometimes do I ever need it. I’m looking forward to your family’s return here, and not just about computer stuff! If you get back in late summer you’ll be able to see all the summer critters here, hundreds of chickens, 12 turkeys and of course……… Gilbert. Hope you don’t want to take Gibert back to the cities with you although I think Charlie would get along with him just fine. Might be a bugger to house train though :)

It says access denied. Url not found. Oh, I just gotta see Gilbert!! I can’t wait for them to get back either. They set me up with a real good spam blocker. Oh, it feels so good. No more nasty spam. Course, I have lots of stuff I am itching to get started on like my how to homstead section. Problem is…I don’t know how to homestead :)

    Christina,
I’ll just forget links and photos for a while myself, it denying me access too. I hate getting headaches from the blogging so I just stop doing what gives me the headaches, eh. Spam blocker, hmmm, I’m getting hit bigtime today on this site, this time everything written in German.

    Try this to see Gilbert,

Yes, it is called spam karma. It is a word press plug in . It is working pretty good so far. But Mark had to de-spam your comment the other day because it labeled you spam because you mentioned the word spam in your entry. It is kind of neat. I am really excited about it.

    Christina,
I had a pretty good load of spam the last couple of days and although it doesn’t harm anything it sure can get on a persons nerves sometimes. It just goes to show in today’s society what some people have to do with their empty lives. You know, I wonder how some folks can even sleep at night living such worthless miserable lives.

    Tom
