Prayer

September 29th, 2006 by Northern Farmer

Even though it’s only Friday the week is wrapping up here, tomorrow should not be all to busy unless some critter decides to make it so for us. But today consisted of a dozen different jobs, mostly putting away stuff for the season and by mid afternoon I had time to go out to the woods and load up a wagon load of firewood. This is one of my favorite jobs and I was all alone except for some wild calves peeking out of the brush to look me over and then high tail it back into the woods to mamma and safety.

There’s few jobs that a person can do where one can think, Praise the Lord and pray undisturbed for long period of time like this job. No noise, except for a slight breeze in the ash and oak trees, and an occasional cow snort back in the brush. In the far distance in every direction I could hear the buzz of silage choppers, farmers filling silos. It’s kind of a nice sound and is more relaxing than disturbing, a very low far off sound. About a hundred feet to the east is the creek running almost full in the banks now that summer is over with.

But I was thinking today about the people I know personally and through the computer. Good folks. Everybody has their own ways, ideas and lives. And many have terrible problems that could jerk a tear out of anyone with a heart. When a person is working out there one can really get thinking about it. And when thinking, a person realizes that one of the most important things any believer in Jesus can do is pray for other people. It’s every person’s ministry. We are commanded to be Christ like, so I was thinking, what did Christ do? Never anything for himself, always for everyone else.

Prayer is the most important act any Christian can do, and praying for others, filling the gap, is praying Christ like. Praying with faith in our God, praying with joy no matter what the circumstances, praying with love for others. These are the prayers that make things move. And the promise is that our prayers will be answered, those prayers prayed in faith.

So I would ask all who read this to pray for the Fuller family, from the blog known as the Kansas Milkmaid. Pray in faith for Brian’s healing. These are folks I’ve come to love, the whole family. I’ve never met them personally, but through e-mail and phone conversations can truly call them my friends. And when praying, pray with authority, the authority given to all believers.

This afternoon they were being prayed for at the wood pile along with many others. Many folks with cancer were prayed for. To many when a person thinks about it. What a scourge on humanity, so many families affected. Our own included. It’s time to hit back hard, pray, pray, pray. And the prayers will be answered.

I’m not writing this to tell people that I pray, I’m writing this because it’s very much on my heart to do so, to ask for prayer for Brian and family. There’s tremendous power in prayer and it should be used always. God Bless.

I agree with you totally. You know I will and have been praying for total restoration in his body that anything impure inside of him will be cast out. I know that God’s healing power is on him right now healing his cancer away.

When you think there is nothing you can do to help anyone or that you can’t afford to donate something, you are wrong! Prayer for that person or cause works more than all the money in the world. I consider it a very precious gift when someone prays for me. I will pray for Ksmilkmaid and family. I will pray for Bruce. I haven’t visited her blog in a few days but will stop by now. Thanks

I absolutely agree that as Christians we should try to bear each other’s burdens and pray. I am praying for them also.
