The Problem
December 29th, 2006 by Northern FarmerSo the government has decided to put cloned animals in the food supply. Funny, you’d think if they were so great that the folks raising them up would get a super premium, eh. Think about it, shouldn’t they if they’re so special and great. So why in the world would they be concerned about getting them into the regular food supply? Why pass them off as regular animals. Now to heck with the moral and religious stuff on this subject. That would take volumes, or on second though maybe just a few sentences. I just want to think about my right to know what kind of food I’m eating. You know, what is it!! But nnnnnoooooooo, can’t have that can we! Deception pulled on the general public again by the corporate giants who “control†the government agencies. Take GMOs, now cloned critters, what’s next?? And corruption fights to get their way again.
But then again why not! Who cares anymore? Me, me, me! That’s all there ever seems to be. Nobody seems to care. Where are the churches, or do we really want to know? More and more are much more concerned about being gay then anything else. And the ones that aren’t going that direction are more concerned about the love of money, in other words the world. Who cares if there’s around seven thousand abortions a day in this country alone. I often wonder what would happen if everyone that called themselves a Christian was a Christian. Food for thought huh. Cause you know that a Christian would never accept any of this, I’m talking about a real Christian, not just some folks that go to church or are religious or something like that.
All over the sewer called the internet there’s forums of all sorts and many of them are arguing about religion. And I’m talking about homesteading forums and the like. More often than not the fella or gal calling themselves an atheist are right on most debates with so called Christians. So many will just say flat out how come Christians don’t act like the Bible says they’re supposed to? And the so called Christian will go round and around and more than likely be soundly defeated quite simply because he or she is a Christian in modern Christian eyes only. They probably go back to their church where nothing ever happens and lick their wounds with all the other cripples. Scared to take on the world, scared to disturb their own miserable existence.
And I ain’t talking about any denomination here or nothing at all like that! This condition is everywhere! And we wonder why it’s all going to heck! Now a person can figure that they’ll sit in their church and the Lord is really favoring them and has a covenant with them and all that, but if they ain’t going out and preaching it and taking on the world full force, God doesn’t even know them! Not a good thought huh. No matter what theology a person goes by it’s not worth it’s weight in used toilet paper if they’re not on fire for God and willing to take on the world head on. Could anyone imagine how far the early church would have gotten if the original 120 on the day of Pentecost would have stayed holed up like most churches in this age. They wouldn’t have had a three thousand person membership growth the first day, that’s for sure. They didn’t build a building on First Temple Street and get religious, boring, repetitious, and as always in this situation, self centered. They took the church with them where ever they went, each and every one! And it spread like wildfire until it became controlled by the state.
I can’t but help getting on this subject so often quite simply because it’s the truth and I know many folks don’t like top hear it. But too bad! Because if I wrote anything else I’d be a liar. This is not a Christian nation in the true sense of what the Bible says a Christian is supposed to be. Far, far from it! You know, a person don’t have to look too far, sometimes just in the mirror and see folks following the world all the way. Whatever happened to going out and preaching the Gospel instead of holing up in worldly churches, shaking like a scared rabbit under a brush pile surrounded by a pack of hungry coyotes? That’s the state of the church today! Everyone controls them, gutless, unwilling to let it be known in public that they are followers of Christ.
Oh, I hope that someday, I hope I live to see it, where the church has the guts to take on the world like they used to. I personally know folks that have the guts to do it, and they do, but are looked at by their fellow church members as if they have a disease or something. Hurts a person’s ego when you know you’re a phony and then see somebody doing what they’re supposed to be doing. Gotta shun that person, maybe say they ain’t religious enough.
So to sum it up, we get what we deserve as a society. No question about that! Dead churches, people chasing the world, no explosions of faith. Dead! I like reading the Bible, in fact I love reading it, how simple people would take on impossible odds and have at it for God! It gotta happen today more than it is. Nowadays I read how people are bickering about how we do it at our church or this or that. Which religious rite we should use, ours is better than yours, our denomination worships correctly, our music is more holy than yours because ours is two hundred years old, we believe this or that. But it don’t make any difference at all. Because it’s all totally worthless if your not on fire for God and spreading the Gospel. What we need are more folks that are willing to step outside of dead religion and preach the Good News! Not in some church building with the cowardly, but amongst the unsaved masses, bring the church with them everywhere they step. The Shield of Faith so often preached about isn’t about defense, the shield was used in the charge ahead!
Well, I see I still haven’t summed it up, but I’d better get to it. This is what I believe, this is what the Bible says over and over, so this is what I’ll write. Any questions, first read the Bible with open eyes and then we’ll talk. It’s all in there, over and over and over…..

Tom,
I have heard it said that many Christians live as if they were practical atheists. This was said in the context of fathers not reading the Bible to their family, but I think this applies to many other areas of life. Many Christains seem very dull, unwilling to do a little research to prevent their children from being guinea pigs for the next biotechnology boondoggle.

The homones/antibiotics used on todays linebred (inbred) cattle doesn’t have to be listed on the product label. Nor do they have to list all the gunk they feed these almost cloned steers. BGH is not listed on milk cartons and I know how most dairy cows are fed today.(My grandfather would have a word or two to say about that!!) The comercials about the happy california cows making happy cheese is full blown malarky. I’ve seen these “happy” cows in Calif. and trust me they are NOT happy…makes me sad for them. Cloned animals in the food supply???..WHAT ARE THEY THINKING???? oh ya..they’re not……..they are to busy listening to the sound of money sliding under the table.

Jim,
Good points! I heard last evening that the average “good” christian spends 10 minutes in prayer a week and listens to preaching a few hours a week. That’s a bit upside down even if we’re talking about a good christian. It should be the other way around and it reflects right back into the family life. The average American christian got figures so low that they’re barely worth mentioning. From home life to public life we harvest what we plant!
Patti,
Yup! Them Happy Cows sure are happy,eh!! What a crock they’ve pulled on the numb public. I’ve seen the “happy cows” in this region too, and my heart cries for change on this. How could anyone treat such wonderful animals so terrible?? And call it good?? It all boils down to what was written in the post above, which is the love of money or the world. That’s the visible result, but the invisible things that are happening to the bodies of the general public will haunt us for generations to come, all because of the total worship of money! And notice how this evil is never satisfied?? There’s always more and more evil coming in, faster and faster. One only has to ponder this a little bit and realize this is spiritual warfare. Self, the world (love of money), and powers of darkness are on the move, never satisfied till all is crushed in it’s path. Pretty heavy huh? But there is no in between. This could get me labeled in the nutcase division, but it’s true never the less.
And thank you for bringing the subject up the other day!

Preach it brother! Another awesome post! For the first time in my Christian life (been a Christian 30 years) I am in a church where prayer is a priority - hours and hours a week! And no 30 minute sermons on Sunday morning - worship for an hour and a half and then preaching that usually lasts about that long - it is WONDERFUL…and reaching out to our community to share the gospel, supporting, knowing and CARING about our missionaries and making trips to see them to relieve them for a time and to support and encourage them…and then other trips to share the gospel in other countries - I have never seen the like - and seeing people healed, changed….well….it is just awesome!
If the Christians of this world realized that we aren’t supposed to be “holding back the gates of hell” as I have so often heard preached…we are supposed to be “storming the gates of hell”….we should be on the advance for God’s kingdom!

Brent,

OK
By the way, I received a big surprise in the mail, I mean it was a total surprise!! I’ll be getting back to you about that! Gee, I still have Christmas Cards to write out, I’m serious! Always a bit behind and enjoying every minute of it
God Bless!
Cheri,
When ever I do a post like this I always cring just a bit, the old flesh wants to stay with the world and don’t like it much. But its good to just let it fly! And what you wrote about your church, thank you for sharing it!! That’s what I love to hear, a church on fire for God!! A church that’s moving ahead instead of holding it’s own or going down. I know I’d be happier than a pig in mud over your way in that church. Reminds me of ours, one that’s on fire!
I made a promise to myself a while back, that I’d never back off on preaching it. Sometimes I don’t hardly want to but just do it anyhow. But the don’t hardly want too’s are getting much further and further apart. And the want too’s are driving me more and more.
Thanks and God Bless!

Hi Tom!
Well, we’ve gotten 6 inches of new snow so far and it is still coming down. That’s a lot considering we might have had 4 inches of accumulated snow on the ground before this storm. The snow is coming straight down. No wind. With the dim light of an almost full moon filtering thru the clouds, it’s really pretty outside. Mild temperatures!!! It’s like the scene out of Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’—well without the singing that is…….. No, don’t suggest for me to start caroling. The coyotes won’t even join in.
I applaud your sentiments and your convictions regarding your faith! I certainly agree that a sincere faith in the writings of the Bible motivates a person into action. As our good friend James says “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”
I agree that a sincere Christian will be “on fire for God” and share this ‘Good News’ at every opportunity. But I also include the teachings that our daily lives need to reflect our commitment to our faith. “Be not conformed to the pattern of this world”.
I believe that how we live our daily lives and how we treat the people around us preaches far more than just sharing mere words.
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom”.
May God continue to bless you and your family during this coming new year! May He give your family peace and understanding and shelter you from the coming storm!

Steven,
If rain was snow we’d be up to our eye balls now! Rained for about 12 hours straight. I don’t know what it’ll be like out there when I go out in a few minutes but I know it ain’t dry
Lack of time here, but I’ll get back to you on this, I promise! Gotta get doing chores and then see if the weather will allow us to head to church or not. I don’t know if I’ll do it as a response or a full blown blog, but the response is burning inside of me. I think you’ll like how it all comes together and hopefully agree with it all. Just to durn much to write as I’m wolfing down a breakfast and getting ready to head out. I wish I had the time right now!
Later my friend, I promise!! Stay tuned!
