We Were Born For A Time Such As This!

March 8th, 2007 by Northern Farmer

Just came in a bit ago from cutting and splitting wood all afternoon and these bones are a bit tired. I was planning on posting all day and when I got in I just sat here wondering what could I possibly be in the mood to write about. You know how it is, just staring at the computer, nothing happening. So I decided to go down the blogroll for once, I don’t get to do it as much as I’d like, but as I usually do I started at the top of the list and that’s as far as I got. Walla!! Mind is moving, blood is boiling! Yee Haw!! You all make sure you get yourselves over to Scott’s site and have a read, but then come back quick!

As has happened so many times these last couple of years, I know exactly what Scott is talking about in his post. I would guess that the great majority of readership might not be quite as exposed to some of this as we are, so, now you’ll get some exposure, pretty good deal huh! And the cost is minimal to boot! Can’t beat that!

I’ve mentioned it before also where big ag is starting to notice folks like us. And it ain’t with a warm smile and a hug either. Those parasitic rascals are backing into a corner and snarling pretty good. The first thing that they do is lie, and the second, and the third etc. I’ve also heard us called PETA fanatics, well big ag, did you ever read about us baptizing a skunk here last summer, that won’t get us card carrying PETA status rest assured. Plus hunting, trapping, home butchering all the time. There’s not much ammunition in that lie that we’re PETA people. But I’d venture to guess that quite a few big ag people are, you know the workers in a cubicle that donate money to every left wing cause so they feel better when they drive their gas hog home to a house that’s ten times the size that their family needs, mortgaged to the hilt, family members just passing through here and there. Each with their own little life, and not family life either. No one knowing what the others are doing. Ah, the perfect industrial family!

And that perfectly miserable existence sees a movement and doesn’t like it one bit! Their god is starting to shake a bit and it’s time to appease their god. So the preaching has started for some time now, and I also have been noticing the escalation of it. The desperation that leads to propaganda and lies that would have made the Nazis proud! It’s incredible, it really is, how they can take anything good and call it evil. No matter what it is, they will come out against it because their god, money, is getting shaky. Whew, Glory! I love it!

Now let me tell you, they’re not going to stop with the level of propaganda that they’re using now, no way! It’s going to really get going as time goes on. Much of the lies are aimed at farmers, gotta keep them in line you know. Because every farmer that realizes the truth stops the money flow to the few. And durn it, you can’t have a farmer and family making a living!! Sacrilege! Blasphemy! How dare a family farm stop the money flow to the few. Where are the few going to get the money for their BMWs and Lambreginis? Taint fair! How dare a farm family even consider not having most family members working out in able to support the crops and animals for big ag!

Now I realize this is not the most civil post in the world, but what the hey! You come in after working with wood most of the day in snow and heavy clothing. There comes a time when it gotta be put out plain and simple and this is one of those times. Big Ag is nervous and they’re gonna get much more so! And when folks start to realize, I’m talking about folks on the land here, when they realize that they can make a living, a good living on the land they ain’t going back, period. When they realize once and for all the lies that are pounded into them day after day on the radio and ag rags that come in the mail almost daily the money flow will stop. The largest chain of stores in the world has said that they will control the organic market in a handful of years from now. Well, I’m here to tell you that folks aren’t as dumb as these folks figure. I can’t tell you how many common folks, customers, already are starting to realize this! And it growing at a breakneck speed! I love the saying, that for every action there’s a reaction! The industrial culture of death is strong arming into the organics business and folks are slipping through just like greased pigs! What will be in store shelves will be a joke and for every farmer that raises food the way it should be raised there’ll be people lined up for it. I see it happening now.

There won’t have to be millions spent on advertising and promotion. Ever think where that money comes from? It’s taken off the price of what a commercial farmer receives for his or her commodity product. Right out of the price that the farmer receives. That will stop also.

I will say here that I never thought I’d see anything like this in my life time. Folks looking for farmers, real farmers, not serfs. And I never thought that it would be spreading like it is. It doesn’t matter what economic group a person is in. We get folks with little means to folks that make a pretty good living here as customers. Doesn’t make any difference at all. It’s not an affluent thing, it covers all types of folks. When one sees it first hand all I can do is smile. Smile at the fear that’s starting in big ag now, fear enough for them to start investing millions of dollars to try to fight back the real family farmers. There’s a battle going on, it’s just started. Big ag knows that they could very well lose in the end. We know they will, they know it’s a definite possibility. That’s why the money is flowing now to combat the real farmers. And the money to combat real farmers comes from what’s stolen from the conventional farmers and their families. Folks, this is going to be good! I want to be a part of this. We were born for a time such as this!

    Tom,

May God use us to break this thing open. It is a sacred calling. Let’s keep chipping away at things just like William Wilberforce did. Let’s train our children to join us in the work.

Well, I gotta agree with you and Scott on this. I’m in the process of “Big Ag”‘n one of my pastures with NPK. I can’t believe the prices. Oh sure, I’ll use the rotation and manure after this year (If those stupid calves would quit messing with the cross fencing :( ), but I need grass now. Anyway had to gulp big time to get them coming out and spreading my fields.
Suprisingly, its the same with soil testing. $8 a test now at Auburn +shipping!! Seems everyones leeching nowadays. So I took out the ol chemestry set and I’ll give this soil stuff a try myself……

Well, now ya done it Tom!! I went on a little mini-rant myself :)

    Have a GREAT day,
    Brad

I noticed this a day or so ago…Big Ag is indeed trying to fight back, by smearing “organic.” I bet we’ll be seeing a lot more stories like this.

Organic Food can ‘add to allergies’

Of course, in the article they say they really don’t understand allergies yet. So how do they know organic food adds to them? Ah well.

Thanks for the blogging, Tom, Jim, GFJ and Nathan.

    Jim,
Well, I ain’t going to stop! So lets keep on chipping till she busts open!

    Brad,
I was at the co-op the other day and they were saying how inputs are going through the roof. I just had to smile, and also tell a piece of my mind! All the propaganda about corn in such demand, day after day after day. They say it’s not going to end. Wanna make a bet? I have never seen such a campain to get farmers frenzied up to plant corn no matter what the cost, throw in a little patriotism to boot and get them to spend. Bleed em dry! They’re jacking up the inputs insanely, and farmers that are brainwashed by the ag rags and radio will spend or borrow to the hilt just to be faced with a $1.50 a bushel crop come fall. But the important thing is the huge multi national companies are going to have windfall profits! Oh, I could go on with this but I have better things to do, like head to the reading room :)

    Thanks my friend!!

    Matt,
Thanks for the link and if you ever come across any more post them here! I appreciate it very much. Kinda put together an archive as we go around here. Many folks might not think that I’m playing with a full deck so when we can show the propaganda for what it truely is it’s very helpful!

And thanks for always reading Matt! It’s folks like you that make this blog!
