Changing Times
February 14th, 2008 by Northern FarmerOh Lord, winter just keeps its grips on us here. Reminds me of years ago when it durn near drove a man nuts! We had us a few inches of snow last night, the most since the very beginning of December. We were at church and driving home through the hills was down right beautiful It was just quiet driving on that powder snow, up and down the hills, wasn’t slippery or anything, just nice. I’d only drive around 30 mph because I could barely see where the road was the way the snow was coming down at the time. But it was a very good Wednesday evening in our country church out in that little town. Today consisted of cleaning up the snow in the places on the farm that needed it and regular chores. That all took the greater part of the day. Small snowfalls aren’t much problem, but if we get a big one it can sometimes take up to three days before its all cleaned out.
This past Monday was special, well at least for me it was. That’s because we received the quarterly Small Farmer’s Journal magazine. And it’ll take me about three months to get through the thing thoroughly. But the little I read so far has me pondering a bit here in this mid winter season. In the editorial is a bit about how the huge corporations are aiming to buy out all the magazines and periodicals that have to do with small farming, homesteading etc. One corporation has a billion dollars earmarked just for that alone! Thus the enemy plans to take over it all. There would be no more of how we know it in these magazines, they could slowly or rapidly tell us how to think and how to be better absorbed into the culture of death.
Now I don’t know about anyone else but this does have me thinking. In fact its taken up a large portion of my thinking time when I’m outside working away. So that’s one of the ways that they figure on taking control of the last bastion of freedom and family that there truly is in this country. Besides dirty legislation they have almost unlimited money to throw at it. And as one that does get exposed to corporate ag media daily I have no trouble imagining how they’ll do it over time. Just keep speaking the lies till the lies are excepted as the truth. Like I said, it has me dwelling on the subject. It has me wondering what will happen when this all takes place, because folks, we’re talking about allot of money here.
This is all not much of a surprise to anyone that reads the Bible, but never the less it still hits a person in the gut a bit. This might sound kinda nuts but it might come down to small networks helping each other out in the future because every bit of information that’s currently out there will be controlled sooner or later. Personally I think people won’t be tip toeing through the tulips all that much longer. World corporations need serfs and they’ll stop at nothing to get them. But one thing about human nature is that when the going gets tough things start to happen. Now there’s this false sense of security and folks really don’t care all too much one way or another. Just look at the modern American church. I love this post over at the TN Farm Girl’s blog.
There will have to be without a doubt people helping people, really the way they were meant to in the first place. And I do believe that its a Christian role to help teach many of these things and help preserve the farm families on the land. Because to put it bluntly, no one else will! The government sure won’t, all they are interested in is the New World Order where a very few take all. Nope, the more I dwell on it the responsibility will have to be with the Christians, the churches that aren’t sucked into the hell pit of this modern society and also rural ministries. The days are coming to an end where you just get em saved and then release them back into the modern world to live like they were before. Not changed one bit except for a different social group to hang around with, if that.
The days are coming when being a Christian won’t be pretty. In fact it’ll get you in allot of trouble. Unless your with a church that toes the line and openly declares that all the sin that has taken over our society is good, and rest assured there are plenty of those churches and their number is growing daily. So am I going to go out and join some extremist group? No. But I’m going to believe my Bible because I know its the Word of God and that supersedes any doctrine coming out of any church today. And I mean any doctrine! But that simple statement probably puts me in more trouble than any statement I could ever make in this world that we live in. Both with the world and with religion. But I ain’t going to be judged by the world and I ain’t gonna be judged by religion, I’m going to be judged by the Word.
Oh Glory! You know, no matter what happens, no matter what way things turn a person knows how it will end! Glory. But in the meantime one gotta walk the walk and talk the talk. Speak out that Gospel of Good News, help each other out. No matter how dark things turn, and believe me they’re pretty dark when you consider over fifty million have already been brutally murdered in this country by government mandate. And it will get darker no matter what anyone says. The main thing is not to become part of it. To work to do the opposite. To build strong families, to build strong churches and ministries. To walk away from churches who’s doctrines have turned to man’s wisdom. To believe the Word and to obey it!

Hey Tom!
Too late, you already are in an extremist group, The Brotherhood of Christian Small Farmers! And for that you will be mocked, belittled and driven towards insolvency by those who stand against all that you believe (which, sadly, includes mainstream churches, our own government and big ag). I too got my SFJ (yesterday, how do you rate?) and read the editorial over coffee this morning prior to starting chores. This looks like a really good issue with lots of challenges to my thinking! So let me challenge you with a thought, It seems to me that you have to drive a ways to get to church. What can be done by you (and all of us) to bring back that “little church on the hill” in a way that it is once again a true part of the community?

Hey Brent!
But I suppose that somebody’s got to egg me on! One thing for certain, if I could answer it in the comments section here on this blog I’d have to be one of the smartest men in the world, and seeing that I ain’t quite up there yet I’ll just throw in a couple of general thoughts.
Yup, I know. Kinda got ourselves into the most extreme group there is, no compromise when your in this group!
Yes sir, that’s a challenging thought you passed this way. Well, one thing is for certain, folks can’t wait for someone else to do it, just like anything else, when we are waiting for someone else to do it, it never gets done. Kind of a sly question there Brent, cause you know that this is what drives me more than anything
One thing is to be wary of many of the established denominations, nothing against them, but one by one they are accepting the worlds ways and calling them good. Kinda reminds me of the situation in China between the house churches and the official government churches. Basically the same thing is happening here. But the good news is that the house churches are converting folks by the millions and those folks are truly biblical Christians. This answer might seem to simple to even make sense to our programed minds, but it has to start at the bottom, not the top. There has to be like minded folks getting together and getting things back in order. There has to be folks going out from these groups and starting more and more. I write like this with the fact in mind that in a short time from now there will be no established church in this country whom can legally talk against sin, because they will be persecuted as spreading hate crimes. This is very close as I write. So what does a person do? If we stay in this situation we have publicly declared our allegiance to the enemy of God. I know in our church when this happens there has already been talk about going under, forget the tax write offs and just be an under ground church instead of declaring our allegiance to satan.
The good news is that when this happens, that’s when Christianity blooms, instead of just being a dead religion as it mostly is now in this country. So to just shorten up this comment a bit, what’s going to happen in this country might make the most powerful church ever known in it. God has ways to shape er up, and it might not be the cushy ways that most figure.
I’ll think on this Brent, believe me I will. I never been asked point blank before, and I’m glad you did!
God Bless!

Hey Tom,
Your mention of how the corporations are trying to by up the magazines and periodicals reminds me how freedom is being attacked on all fronts. It also reminds me of how the coming anti-Christ world government will be not only governmental but financial and religious as well. It’s all getting globalized. Global government, global money, global religion. They even want the hearts and minds of our children. The statement that Hillary made some years ago “it takes a village (global village) to raise a child†is still on the agenda to be sure.
After we moved to the country almost ten years ago I thought we’d be insulated from all that. I didn’t give a rip what was going on in the big cities and Washington anymore. I figured if they wanted to go to hell in a hand basket then let em, I’d just go on living my simple little life minding my own business and trying my best to obey the commandments of our Lord.
Well, I never figured it was going to be so all encompassing, that they’d even go after the simple country folks too. But, I guess that’s what happens in totalitarian regimes, just didn’t think it’d happen here. I suppose a person would have to get way, way out in the boonies to avoid it. But, I don’t reckon the Lord wants everyone doing that either otherwise how would His people be the salt and light like they were intended to be.
I watched a good video recently called Late Great U.S.A. by Jerome Corsi. There is also a book that goes with it by the same name. Actually the book came first. You can get it through World Net Daily. It’s put out by them.
Anyway it shows how just how close we are to losing it all to the multi-national corporations who are in cahoots with corrupt politicians. They are destroying the U.S. constitution in order to enslave everyone for profit. Down right treasonous really.
I plan to make a post about it one day soon to encourage everyone to watch the movie. It’s a real eye opener.
Take care and God bless.

Russ,
I know you and I agree very much on this subject. The one thing that I should remind readers is the fact that the Bible said about these times, that we should not fear them. Any born again believer in the Lamb of God knows what the outcome will be! But in the mean time we gotta do what we gotta do.
It sure is happening fast though as you wrote. And that ain’t even counting how much our own minds have gone numb to this society and even we accept things that would have been unpardonable 40 or 50 years ago. And it will speed up!
I’ll be watching your blog for info on the Late Great USA. Sounds like an important one! Best to be informed instead of having our heads in the sand. Cause if we have our heads in the sand, they got us.
You gotta excuse me this evening, my heads in a whirl because today I had some pretty good answers given to me pertaining to Brent’s challenge in his comment up above. Funny how that all works, one day get a question, the next day get an answer. Although this answer will have me shunned by almost every church in this country, in other words its a good answer. But I gotta digest it a little bit as with anything to do with God and church.
Thanks Russ, I sure appreciate it when you chip in around here and on your blog!
God Bless!
Hey Lori!
Well, what can I say but YES!! Amen!
God Bless!
